Two former Team Canada members finished in the top five at the SunCoast Series Tour event that completed play on Wednesday, April 8th.  It was being played at the Harmony Preserve GC in Davenport, Florida.

Fitting, during this Masters week, Augusta James of Bath, Ontario was that the top Canadian. It also happens to be her 22nd birthday today; she was born on the same day as the first round of the 2003 Masters.

In a share of 5th place heading into the final eighteen the 2014 Canadian Women’s Amateur Champion closed with an impressive 5 under par score of 67 to move up and finish in 4th place. She recorded rounds of 71, 70, and 67 in reaching her -8 total. It was four strokes off the winning score of American Ryan O’Toole.

James’ final round included seven birdies offset by just two bogies. She earned (USD) $1,000 for her efforts.

Also closing strong was Anne-Catherine Tanguay of Quebec City who turned in a final round 68. She earned a share of 5th place.

Canadian amateur Christina Foster of Concord, Ontario finished in a tie of 11th place.

Ottawa’s Alison Timlin finished in 52nd place while Montreal’s Sabrina Sapone was just behind her in a share of 53rd.
