There were two Canadian winners on Sunday in top level junior girls golf competition.

Wilkie Wins In A Playoff

In Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, a playoff was required for Bridget Wilkie of Toronto to win the title at The Elite Invitational. She had finished regulation play at -8 for three days, matching Michelle Xing of Richmond Hill, Ontario. Wilkie prevailed in the playoff with a birdie on the first extra hole.

Last month Wilkie, who attends Hilton Head Prep, won the South Carolina State title, was named to the All-State Team, and helped her squad to the State team title. She has committed to attend Notre Dame for her post-secondary golf and education.

Canadians not only took the top two spots but dominated the leaderboard. Third place went to Vanessa Borovilos of Etobicoke, Ontario (-6) while Carlee Meilleur of Lansdowne, Ontario was fourth at -4 for the week.

Six other Canadians finished with the top 16, including Eileen Park, Lindsay McGrath, Yeji Kwon, Shauna Liu, and Anna Huang.

On the boys side of the competition, Canadians Isaiah Ibit (t-8)and Eric Zhao (t-8) finished inside the top ten.

Bourgault Wins Again

Ann-Sophie Bougault, a member at The Royal Ottawa Golf Club in Gatineau, Quebec, just keeps on winning.

Bourgault, who claimed a title in south Florida last weekend, went a little further north to earn another this weekend.

The fifteen-year-old who won three provincial titles in Quebec this year, fired a final round of 67 (-5) to win the GolfWeek International Junior Invitational in Celebration, Florida.

A two-day total of 140 (73-67) was enough to prevail by four stokes over Jessica Guider of Wisconsin and Anna Boone of Florida.

Bourgault used six birdies in her final round to propel her to victory.
