Canucks Lurking At Hooters Tour Event

Several Canadian golf pros are still in contention at the 7th NGA Hooters Tour Bridgestone Winter Series event being held in Haines City, Florida.  The highly-acclaimed Southern Dunes course is playing host this week.

Yohann Benson of Montreal is just one stroke back of leader Robert Rohanna after compiling rounds of 69 and 67 to reach eight under par.

Christopher Ross is three off the pace, in a tie for 10th place, after opening with matching scores of 69.

Looking to take down his second consecutive event on this tour is Stuart Anderson of Alberta who will need a big surge in the final round to jump up from a tie for 10th place.  With a 139 total (68-71), he is five strokes off the lead.

Former North Carolina State teammates Brad Revell of Kingston, Ontario, and Matt Hill of Bright’s Grove, Ontario share 13th place after two rounds.

Just one stroke back of them is Matt Hoffman of Thornhill, Ontario and Robbie Greenwell of Georgetown, Ontario. They share 22nd place.

Rounding out the Maple Leaf squad is Peter Laws of Mississauga who jumped up into a tie for 30th after a 2nd round of 68.

At one time during the 1st round the Canadian contingent sat in 6 or the top 12 spots.

The 54-hole tournament will wrapup Thursday.
