Chris Kirk Wins The Sentry; Canadians Rack Up Rewards

Chris Kirk, 38, earned his 6th PGA TOUR title at the Tour’s first event of 2024. The Tennessee native blitzed the Plantation Course at Kapalua Plantation with a score of -29 (67-65-66-65)to best Sahith Theegala by a single stroke.

It is Kirk’s second victory in as many years, He earned his way into the field at The Sentry courtesy of a win at The Honda Classic in 2023. His first PGA TOUR victory dates back to 2011.

For his efforts, Kirk picked up $3.6 million, the largest cheque of his 331 event PGA TOUR career, and put his career earnings at just under $30 million.

Adam Hadwin was the best of the Canadians this past week. His used a final round of -9 (64) to move up 13 spots on the last day and end up in a tie for 14th place. He earned $320,250 for the week.

Mackenzie Hughes ended up in a share of 25th to earn $170,750.

Adam Svensson and Corey Conners both finished at -8 to tie for 33rd and picked up $113,000 a piece.

2023 RBC Canadian Open champion Nick Taylor tied for 52nd at -11, still good for $54,500.

The PGA TOUR island hops over to Oahu this coming week for The Sony Open in Hawaii.

Six Canadians will be in that field: Corey Conners, Nick Taylor, Taylor Pendrith, Ben Silverman, Adam Hadwin, and Adam Svensson.
