Apparently two regional golfers have a fondness for Morocco, or at least it appears that way by how they are playing. Matt McQuillan (Kingston) and Brad Fritsch (Manotick) are both competing at this week’s Golf In Morocco Classic on the U.S. based eGolf Tour are are in contention. The tournament is being played in Blythewood, South Carolina.
The top eight players from the tournament will earn an exemption, flights, and accommodations to the European Challenge Tour’s Morocco Classic being played in late April. First price money is worth approximately (USD) $35,000.
McQuillan followed up an opening round of 69 with a 65 today. His 9 under par total (with some players still on the course) currently puts him 2 back of leader Tadd Fujikawa and in a tie for 2nd place.
Fritsch shot 67 yesterday and 71 today to sit at five under par through 2 of the 4 tournament rounds.
At the time of this post, yesterday’s Co-Leader, Aaron Goldberg was still on the course.
