The first round of matches in the Ottawa Valley Golf Association (OVGA) Match Play Championship were completed this morning at the Greensmere Golf & Country Club.
The Number 1 seed, Jeff Crowe of Camelot, advanced easily over James Paterson by a tally of 4&3.
Youngster Max Rochette took down veteran Tom Hossfeld by a score of 3&2.
2010 Runner-Up Jason Wilkes added to his fine match play record with a 7&6 drubbing of Dwayne Mercer.
Other matches saw wins by Greg Spencer over Ryan Neil (1 Up), Jason Allen over Dany Munger (1 Up), Ben Bell over Adam Kingsbury (2&1), Justin deVroome over Kyle Koski in 21 holes, and Brady Acheson over Lyle Alexander in 19 holes.
Round two matches are now underway.
