A trio of regional golfers are deep into the hunt at the Duke of Kent Championship being played at Royal Quebec Golf Club. The Kent is the second Quebec Triple Crown Major Amateur event of the season.
In the opening round on Friday Tom Henderson of Smiths Falls, Dwight Reinhart of Renfrew, and Marc-Etienne Bussieres of Gatineau all shot 69 to sit one stroke off the lead heading into Saturday’s final round.
Leading the tournament with a score of 68 is 21 year-old Jean Hubert Trahan of Blainvillier Golf Club. That score, despite a bogey on the closing par five hole.
Patrick Goodhue of the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club is the only other regional golfer in the top 10. He is currently tied for 9th after a score of 71.
