For the second time, Jeff Ferguson is in possession of the Harold W. Davis Trophy. The award is symblomatic of victory at the Cataraqui Field Day, an event has been played for over five decades at the Stanley Thompson designed Cataraqui GC in Kingston, Ontario.
On Saturday, June 2nd, Ferguson crafted a one under par score of 69 in cool, windy conditions to win the Field Day for the second time. The Cataraqui member beat out his club mate, junior Conor Rodrigues, by three strokes for the win.
“I played steady all day, fairways and greens, never really in any trouble,” said Ferguson who he carded three birdies against two bogies. Two of those birdies came on his last two holes of the day to secure the title.
Ferguson’s previous win at the tournament came in 2000 when he was a member of the Brockville Country Club.
Low net overall honours went to Assaad Moussaoui of Cataraqui who carded a personal best 74 for a 68 net score.
Eighty -six golfers from all over Eastern Ontario were part of the field.
