Four Remain At OVGA Junior Boys’ Match Play

There are just four players left on the Match Play Tree for the Ottawa Valley Golf Association Junior Boys’ Match Play Championship.

Two sets of matches on Tuesday pared down the field from a starting sixteen, setting up the Junior Boys matches scheduled for Thursday at Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club.  The participants for the Girls and PeeWee Boys matches were already determined on Monday.

Leading the way in the Junior Boys’ matches was qualifying medalist Cooper Brown of Dragonfly Golf Links.  Brown disposed of #16 seed Will Courchene by a score of 2&1 in his first match and then proceeded to beat out #9 seed Carson Scissons by the same tally to advance to the semi-finals. There he will face #4 seed Matthew James of RideauView.

In the other semi-final match #10 seed Mackenzie Wadley (Camelot) will take on #11 seed Nolan Windsor of Rivermead.

The Girls semi-final matches on Thursday will see Grace St-Germain (Hylands) take on Emily Peters (Brockville) while RideauView club-mates Julia Malone and Paxton Mayer will face off in the other match.

The PeeWee Boys final will see James Parsons of Mississippi take on Dale Richardson of RideauView.  Both boys tied for first place in the qualifying on Monday with scores of 81.
