Brad Fritsch had a six stroke lead heading into the 5th round of the Tour Final Qualifying tournament Monday.  With just one round now scheduled to play Tuesday he’ll start the final session with a five stroke head start on the field.

The 37 year-old from Manotick, Ontario added a 70 to his tournament total Monday. Rounds of 72, 64, 65, 65, and 70 have him at 22 under par while his nearest pursuer for the top prize, Andrew Landry, is sitting at 17 under par. Rhein Gibson and Matt Fast share third place at 15 under par.

Fritsch played the Fazio course at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on Monday. His last lap at the complex will take place on the Champion Course, the host layout for the PGA TOUR’s Honda Classic.

It’s a nice cushion for the former member of the PGA TOUR who is trying to fight his way back to the big show via the secondary tour.  A win Tuesday would give him the ability to play all the events he wants on the Tour in 2015 as he seeks a top 25 spot in their year long money list and a place on the PGA TOUR in 2016.
