Fritsch In Contention in Seaforth

Manotick’s Brad Fritsch has another shot at winning his first Canadian Tour title.  After a weather delay caused play to be shortened on Saturday the third round was completed early Sunday morning and with that the Manotick, Ontario-raised pro will start the final round two strokes back of the lead.

Fritsch shot an impressive 8 under par, 62 at the Seaforth Golf Club on Saturday, pushing him to a total score of thirteen under par.  That put his in a tie for 4th place and two shots back of 2009 Seaforth Country Classic winner Brain Unk.  Unk, who also won the 2000 Eagle Creek Classic in Ottawa, holds the Seaforth tournament record of 256 (28 under par).

Fritsch will start his final round on Sunday at 11:28 a.m. in a pairing with Ryan Williams and Andrew Parr.

Also making a solid showing in Seaforth is Ryan Kennedy of Kingston.  Kennedy, a long-time member at the Amherstview Golf Club, received a sponsor’s exemption to play in the event and is making the best of it.  In his first ever Canadian Tour event he has posted scores of 68,67, and 68 and starts the final round in a tie for 28th place.

The only other regional golfer to make the cut was Brad Revell, also of Kingston.  He is near the back of the field at 209, one under par total.
