Fritsch Opens With 68

Former Manotick resident Brad Fritsch is right where he needs to be to start the Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open.  The second last Tour event of the year is being played this week at the Dye Valley Course at TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra, Florida.

Currently in the #22 position of the tour’s money list, the Rideau View Country Club member can earn a PGA Tour card for 2013 if he can be in the top 25 by the end of next week’s Tour Championship in Texas.  Protecting his position is paramount and Thursday’s opening round is a good start.

Brad shot 68, 2 under par, and is in a tie for 15th heading into round 2.

His opening round included a shaky front nine marked by four bogeys and two birdies but his back nine was flawless with four birdies and no blemishes on his card.

Fritsch will tee off his second round at 1 P.M on Friday.
