Brad Fritsch’s bid to regain his PGA TOUR exempt status for 2014/2015 is officially over.

The Manotick, Ontario native missed the 36-hole cut at the Open on Friday. He was playing the Napa, California tournament as a Minor Medical Extension of his 2013/14 season as well as a top ten exemption from the Wyndham Championship in August.

Under the extension Fritsch could have earned playing privileges for 2014/2015 with a two-way tie for 11th place or better. It would have given him the equivalent of the 125th place player on PGA TOUR Money List.

It was not to be as rounds of 74 and 70 left him one stroke short of play on the weekend.

With 2015 Tour status assured and no events to play on that tour for some time Fritsch will attempt to Monday Qualify for the PGA TOUR Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas this coming week.
