A couple items came cross our desks yesterday. Some personnel changes and an enhancement for one Eastern Ontario golf facility.
PGA of Canada member Gary Graveline has accepted a position as an Assistant Professional at The Landings Golf & Teaching Centre in Kingston. About to embark in his first full year as a professional, Graveline has spent the last five season working at the Dragonfly Golf Links in Renfrew, Ontario. He is a graduate of the Professional Golf Management Program at Georgian College.
Brockville Country Club Head Professional Derek MacDonald will have a valuable addition to his golf teaching services for this season. The Class PGA of Canada Professional will be adding TrackMan Doppler Radar to his repertoire. MacDonald says they will use the system to enhance their teaching services offered at the club as well as in club fitting. The club becomes only one of three facilities in the region offering use of the hi-tech tool. One of only two golf course.
Eric Lamarre will be filling the vacancy left by Jonathan Bodden at ClubLink. Lamarre is the new Regional Director of Sales & Marketing for Eastern Ontario and Quebec.
The move is the next step for Lamarre in a long career with the company.
He joined ClubLink in 1999 as the Director of Golf at Val des lacs, then known as the Cedarbrook Golf Club.
His tenure has included the opening of key clubs for the company – Le Maitre de Mont-Tremblant in 2001 and Le Fontainebleau Golf Club in 2003.
Marc Trepanier, ClubLink’s Regional Executive Director said of Lamarre, “He has been instrumental in the development of the Montreal region from day 1. His leadership and salesmanship skills have helped in all of his positions with ClubLink, most recently the Director of Operations at Islesmere from 2007 to 2009, along with the execution of the TELUS Skins game and two Champion Tour events at Le Fontainebleau.”
