Golf Season Continues Around Region

A golf season that started wet and cold is having the ending that every golfer hopes for – one that does not seem to stop.

Unusually warm weather in Ontario has stretched the opening at many clubs and golfers seem to be flocking to take advantage of the situation.

More than a dozen golf clubs are still open in Eastern Ontario as temperatures continue to hover near the 10 Celsius mark, a trend that is expected to continue to the 16th of the month, according to Environment Canada predictions.

Make sure to call the golf club you are hoping to play in advance as the schedules can change quickly.

Among the courses we know are open as of today, November 8th, are Metcalfe (last day open Nov. 9), Canadian, Calabogie Highlands, Pakenham Highlands, Smugglers Glen, Cedar Glen, Gatineau, Cedarhill, Manderley On The Green, Raceview, Falcon Ridge, Nation, Mississippi, Meadows, Les Vieux Moulins, Glen Lawrence, Briar Fox, Trillium Wood, Westbrook, Lombard Glen, Emerald Links, Anderson Links, The Landings and Oak Hills.  The Kevin Haime Golf Centre in Kanata is also open if you just want to hit a few balls or get in a late season lesson.

We apologize for any omissions in this list but feel free to email editor @ flagstick.com if you have further updates.

Be sure to get out and take advantage of the great golfing weather.
