Graham Gunn from White Sands Golf Course & Practice Centre in Orleans and Dave Kalil from the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club were the winners of the Flagstick.com Players Tour – Ottawa PGA Summer Open sponsored by TaylorMade / Adidas at Mountain Creek Golf Club on Monday, July 16.
Mr. Gunn, winner of the Flagstick.com Players Tour – Ottawa PGA Spring Open at Hawkesbury earlier this year, finished his round tied with Deep River’s Chris Learmonth and Hyland’s John Kelly with scores of even par 70 necessitating a sudden-win playoff. Mr. Kelly was eliminated with a bogie on the first playoff hole and Mr. Learmonth suffered the same fate on the fifth playoff hole leaving Mr. Gunn with the win. Tied for 4th place with scores of 72 were Pine View’s Scott Mikkelsen and Chris Barber from the Landings Golf Club in Kingston.
Dave Kalil was the winner of the Senior Division with his round of even par 70 and he was overjoyed with his first Ottawa PGA win. Terry Kolar finished in 2nd place with a score of 72 followed by Calabogie Highlands Steve Hall in third place with a score of 75.
Mountain Creek staff and the volunteers on the course who stuck it out through another hot summer day were thanked for their contributions as where the membership who gave up their course for a few hours for Ottawa PGA Golf Professionals.
Next up for the Ottawa PGA Senior Professionals is their championship at Mississippi Golf Club on Monday, July 23.
