Henderson Widens Lead At Ontario Junior

Brooke Henderson is doing everything she can to be hoisting the Investors Group Ontario Junior Girls Championship trophy for the second time come Friday afternoon.

On Thursday the fourteen year-old Smiths Falls’ golfer who already has a win on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour this year added a third round 70 to her tally at the Shelburne Golf & Country Club .  Adding it to her opening rounds of 69 and 69, respectively, she now sits at eight under par heading into the final round with a seven stroke lead over Burlington’s Jenna Hague.

The final round of the tournament gets under way at 7:30 am on Friday, with the lead grouping of Henderson, Hague and MacNeil set to tee off at 10:30.

If Henderson should win on Friday it would make the third straight year a golfer from Eastern Ontario won the title.  In 2010 National Team Member Augusta James of Bath, Ontario won the tournament at the Rivendell Golf Club in Verona, Ontario.
