Henderson Wins The Sally; Fritsch Makes The Cut

Brooke Henderson got her 2014 off to a familiar start on Saturday.  The 16 year-old from Smiths Falls locked up yet another tournament win.

This one was at the prestigious South Atlantic Amateur “The Sally”, where she beat an elite field of amateur golfers.

Brooke tallied rounds of 67,76,70, and 72 (-3) over the Oceanside Country Club in Ormand Beach. Florida to win by four strokes over Annabel Dimmock of Virginia Water, England.

Henderson was the only player under par for the four days of play.

A third round 67 (-5) on the Nicklaus Private course propelled Brad Fritsch to make the 54-hole cut at the PGA TOUR’s Humana Challenge.  The Manotick, Ontario native will start the final round in a share of 34th place.

Mike Weir, David Hearn, and Stephen Ames all failed to make the cut which came at -9.
