Henderson’s Hot Play Continues – Earns Share of 4th in Thailand

If you need to find Brooke Henderson this year on the LPGA, just look to the top of the leaderboard.

The Canadian continued her hot play in 2022 at the Honda LPGA Thailand where she ultimately earned a share of 4th place.

With an eagle on the second playoff hole, Nanna Koerstz Madsen defeated Xiyu Lin and won the title with to become the 1st LPGA TOUR winner from Denmark.

Both players had finished regulation at -26 for 72 holes, that was three strokes better than Henderson who turned in impressive rounds of 65-67-66-67 for the week.

“It was a good finish. I felt like I’ve been playing really well, which is a really good feeling, especially after last year wasn’t my best year,” shared the 10-time LPGA winner from Smiths Falls, Ontario after play was complete.

“So to come out this year so strong I’m definitely happy and proud of that. I feel like I’m inching my way closer every week to getting a little bit more comfortable and just enjoying those final groups as much as I have been.

It’s just so fun, so exciting to be in them. I just look forward to when I have my opportunity to win.”

In five starts for 2022, Henderson’s lowest placement was a tie for 11th at the LPGA Drive On Championship at Crown Colony, otherwise she has finished now lower than a share of 6th, with a high of 2nd at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Championships. That steady play has her in 2nd place in the Race to the CME Globe. and the money list at $392,714. She is a cumulative 67 under par for events in 2022.

Asked what she took away from the week in Pattaya, Brooked stated, “You know, I think just shooting low numbers. Like this week everybody was going low and just to keep up you needed to make like six, eight birdies every day.

So I love making birdies and I love chasing and that attack mentality. It was kind of fun to be back in that again.”

Henderson will now have a week off which she will use to attend a wedding in Texas, then she will resume play along with the rest of the LPGA at the JTBC Classic presented by Barbasol in Carlsbad, Caifornia, on March 24th.
