The venerable Cornwall Golf & Country Club is hosting the Ontario College Athletic Association Championship this week and after the first of three rounds players from Humber College are leading the way.
A trio of Humber Hawks are on top of the leaderboard on the men’s side, pushing the team to an early and massive eighteen shot lead. Adrian McCord shot 68, 4 under par to take the individual lead by two strokes over teammate Alex Dumais. The only other player to finish under par was Picton’s Conor Hache who tallied a 71.
The Humber team, which also includes Mark Hoffman and Ottawa’s Ben Bell, finished the day at 283. The Durham College team is at 301 while squad from Georgian College is at 302.
The St. Lawrence College – Kingston campus team is in 7th place with the school’s Cornwall team in 10th and their Brockville team in 15th place.
On the girl’s side of the draw Durham College has a five stroke lead with team member Kayleigh Kraemer the low player in the field on Monday with an 80. She leads Nicole Belcourt of Georgian College by three.
