Flagstick will be providing coverage this week from the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando

It is one of the biggest weeks in golf all year long.  No, not the return of Tiger and Phil to the PGA Tour stage but the annual gathering of golf industry people at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida.

Some of the Flagstick team is on the ground this week in Central Florida, gathering information and conducting interviews for stories to appear later in 2011.

More than 40,000 people attend this show to see the wares from hundreds of golf manufacturers, providing a unique opportunity to catch up to players, club designers, golf industry leaders, and just about anyone of importance affiliated with the game.

We’ll we posting stories and content here to the front page this week and also on the Editor’s Desk Blog.  You can also follow live updates via twitter at twitter.com/flagstick

The show will start with the multi-manufacturer demo day on Wednesday followed by three days of the tradeshow at the Orange County Convention Center.

Please check back for stories, photo, and video and also check out the coverage at our Editorial Partner Website, GolfWRX.com.  The world’s largest golf equipment forum has a team of seven in Orlando this week providing extensive coverage.

To warm up for the show the Flagstick Team will be at an event put on by ACCRA Golf Shafts on Tuesday.  In attendance will be 2-time world long drive champion Jamie Sadlowski, as well as representatives from golf companies like Miura Golf and KBS shafts.  We hope to share some content from the day.  Miura Golf President Adam Barr, formerly of Golf Channel, will be addressing those in attendance and a media panel will talk to the attendees about the use of social and broadcast/print media in their golf businesses.  Included in that panel will be Mike Stachura, Equipment Editor for Golf Digest, as well as Flagstick’s own Editorial Director, Scott MacLeod.

It should be a big week so enjoy the coverage.
