Jon Mills Earns RBC Canadian Open Spot

The Eastern Ontario content in the 2012 RBC Canadian Open has grown to four competitors.

Jon Mills, formerly of Belleville and Deep River, was one of the four successful Monday Qualifiers.  Mills shot 68 at Heron Point Golf Links in Ancaster, Ontario to earn a spot in the Canadian Open for the 9th time.

Mills now joins fellow Eastern Ontario golfers Brad Fritsch (Manotick), Matt McQuillan (Kingston) and Rob Couture (Trenton) in the field for the 103rd playing of the National Championship.

All the other players qualifying on Monday were also Canadian, making 23 in the field at Hamilton Golf & Country Club, six more than last year.

the other Monday qualifiers were David Markle of Shelburne, Ont., Victor Ciesielski of Cambridge, Ont. and Ben Ferguson of Ancaster, Ont.
