A couple collegians from the Limestone City fared well in their first tournaments of the Fall 2012 golf season.

Christina Thorne, a member at Cataraqui G&CC, shot 75-72 to finish second at the Detroit Titans Fall Classic.  The first round 75 was a new career-low for Thorne, a Junior at the University of Detroit-Mercy.  It was one she was happy to top by three strokes in the final round the next day to help her team defend the title at their home event.

Playing for the Limestone College Saints out of Gaffney, South Carolina, 19 year-old Clayton Presant fired a 77-69 in his opening tournament for the team, the Smokey Mountain Invitational.

The 2012 Flagstick Amateur Shootout Champion finished in a tie for 12th place individually.  84 golfers were in the field.

The Limestone College team placed 8th out of the 15 schools participating.
