Mills Leads in Georgia

In a tournament plagued by weather that has stopped action several times through the opening rounds, Jon Mills will take a one stroke lead into Sunday at the Nationwide Tour’s South Georgia Classic.

The former Deep River (ON) and Belleville (ON) resident shot 68 and 66 in his opening two rounds and completed another 12 holes in a score of 2 under par (for an 11 under par total) by the time play was suspended by darkness in Valdosta, Georgia on Saturday night.

Barring another weather delay Mills will have 24 holes to play on Sunday in pursuit of  his 3rd Nationwide Tour tournament title.

The 33 year-old won the CPGA Championship in 2005 and the Albertson’s Boise Open in 2007.

This is his 7th campaign on the Nationwide Tour and he has also played two season on the PGA Tour.

Play at the South Georgia Classic resumes at 7:50 a.m. Eastern on Sunday.
