O’Malley Wins Ottawa PGA Spring Open

Sean O’Malley has his first win on the Ottawa PGA Flagstick.com Players’ Tour.

The Pembroke native and Assistant Professional at the Carleton Golf & Yacht Club shot three under par, 67, on Monday, May 30th, to win the Golf Trends Ottawa PGA Spring Open presented by SkyCaddie.  The semi-private Cedarhill Golf & Country Club in Nepean, Ontario.

In the win O’Malley nipped past two seasoned professionals in Michel Dagenais of Des Erables and Jonathan Schaepper of Mountain Creek who each tallied 68 on the day.

Also finishing under par was Jeffrey Gunn of White Sands Golf & Practice Centre who recently returned to the Ottawa Zone.  He shared fourth place with O’Malley’s boss – Gord Percy of the Carleton Golf & Yacht Club.

In the Senior Division Terry Kolar of Pakenham Golf Club led the way with an even par round of 70.
