Ottawa PGA Junior Challenge Tour Wraps Ups

The 2011 Ottawa PGA Junior Challenge Tour completed the season on Thursday, August 18th with the playing of the Tour Championship at the Dragonfly Golf Links in Renfrew, Ontario.

Cooper Brown made full use of the home course advantage to shoot 72 on the day, the low overall score on the day and earning him the crown in the Boys 14-16 age division.  Grant Barr took down the Boys 17-18 Class with his score of 77.

There was a tie in the Boys 10-13 grouping where William Baker and David Iaderosa each shot 80.

Danielle Humilde was the best of the girls with her 87.

With the final event in the books year-long points were tallied the top players that will make up the team for the Ontario Junior Team Championship was determined.  The championship will take place later this month at the Settler’s Ghost Golf Club near Barrie, Ontario.  The team members for the boys will be Sadler Kubiseski, Grant Barr, Paul Cholette, and Cooper Brown.

The twosome of Danielle Humilde and Robyn Campbell will be the girls’ team for the region.

Also at the final event a golf scholarship of $1,000 was awarded to Grant Barr courtesy of Kevin and Lisa Haime.  Ottawa PGA Executive Director Harry Hereford made the presentation of behalf of the Haimes.

Grant is off to Algonquin College for a two year Business Marketing Course and appreciates the scholarship money. Grant has played on the Ottawa PGA Tour for 7 years.
