Ottawa University Grad Moves To Canadian Tour

Canadian Tour Commissioner Rick Janes  has appointed a graduate of both the University of Ottawa and Carleton University to a key role for the tour.   Scott Pritchard has taken up the new position of Director of Business Development & Communications.  Pritchard spent eight years working for the Canadian PGA and is coming directly from the Ontario PGA where he was Associate Director.

“Scott Pritchard is going to be a valuable addition to our team and brings excellent credentials in marketing, sales and communications,” said Janes. “He will become a voice for the Tour with the national media and a major contributor to our efforts in sponsorship sales and tournament development,” added Janes

Pritchard is a graduate of the University of Ottawa as well as the Eric Sprott School of Business at Carleton University.  He is an active member of the golf community serving on the Board of Directors for the Golf Journalists Association of Canada as well as the Chair of the Durham College PGM Advisory Committee.

“I am very excited about my appointment to work with Commissioner Janes and the Canadian Tour,” said Pritchard. “The Canadian Tour has a storied 25 year history and I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective to the Tour and adding to its history in a positive way,” added Pritchard.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors and Members of the Ontario PGA I would personally like to thank Scott for all of his efforts. Scott has been a loyal staff member of the Ontario PGA since January 2007 and has accomplished some remarkable things for our Association,” stated Ontario PGA President Dustin Kerr-Taylor in a release to the membership. “Scott’s passion to make the Association great was evident in everything he did and it resonated with members, sponsors and media persons alike. The move to the Canadian Tour is seemingly the next logical step in his career trajectory and I look forward to following his progression well into the future”.

The Canadian Tour is also announcing the appointment of Heather Curran to the position of Manager, Player Relations & Tournament Affairs. Heather is joining the Canadian Tour from the European Ladies Tour where she held a similar position.
