Ottawa’s Klekner-Alt Opens with 82

CALIFORNIA, Pa. – The Gannon women’s golf team, which includes Kiersten Klekner-Alt of Ottawa, is in fifth place after Sunday’s first-round action at the Vulcan Invitational. The Lady Knights posted a round score of 335 at the tournament hosted by California (Pa.).

The host institution is in first place after day one with score of 308. Ashland University is second (316) followed by Grand Valley (319), Findlay (331), Gannon (335), West Liberty (363) and Concord (367) to conclude the tournament field.

Dianne Luke of California (Pa.) is the overall leader after a first-round score of 73.

The Lady Knights sit in fifth place in the seven-team field with a team score of 335.

Bhanisha Nagindas was Gannon’s top performer with a round of 80.

Kiersten Klekner-Alt (82),

Amanda Teodorsson (85),

Kelly Nickerson (88) and

Rhiannon Ray (90) completed Gannon’s scoring team.

Klekner-Alt finished with two birdies while Nagindas parred nine holes.

Gannon will conclude play at the Vulcan Invitational on Monday, April 4
