Thursday was a day of ups and downs for several of the top junior golfers from the Ottawa Valley Golf Association as the semi-final and final round matches of the Junior Match Play Championship played out at the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club.

The semi-finals kicked off at 7 a.m. On the girls side of the field Grace Howie got off to a quick start and was 5 up on Gracie St. Germain after nine and eventualy closed her out.  In the other semi-final Cynthia Lowden had a much closer match with Alexandra Hodginskon but eventually prevailed.

Howie, who plays out of Kanata GC, won the finals battle with Lowden to earn the OVGA Junior Match Play Championship.

On the boys side of the draw Jake Haime squared off with Josh Goheen while Michael Reaume took on Gabe Edelson.  Both matches swung wildly with Haime leading 3 UP after nine and Edelson earning a 2 hole advantage over Reaume before each of their competitors came back to win.

In the final it was Ottawa Hunt member Reaume who won the championship with a decisive 4&3 victory over Goheen, who plays out of Hylands.
