The Brookstreet Hotel in Kanata had a number of PGA of Canada Golf Professionals in attendance from October 14-16 for the 3rd Annual BPG Buying Show presented by BPG with the collaboration of the PGA of Ottawa.
The event gathers all the top suppliers in the industry as well as most of the top PGA of Canada Golf Professionals from coast to coast. This show gives professionals the opportunity to see all the new products for the 2016 season as well as giving them the opportunity to place their booking orders in an environment proper for conducting business.
The PGA of Ottawa held their Annual Awards Night on the evening of October 15.
First up was a presentation to outgoing PGA of Ottawa President Dan Kolar from the Mississippi Golf Club. Dan has put in 20 years on the Board and is looking forward to taking some time off.
Awards were then presented by incoming PGA of Ottawa President Greg Chambers of the Manderley-On-The-Green Golf Club.
Recognized for their golfing prowess during the 2015 season were the following:

Recognized for their achievements during the 2015 season were:
Brad Smith of the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club was named the PGA of Ottawa Head Professional of the Year. Also nominated were Darrell Buchanan of The Meadows Golf Club and Bill Keating from the Camelot Golf & Country Club.
Dave McDonald from the Carleton Golf & Yacht Club was named the PGA of Ottawa Assistant Professional of the Year over fellow nominees Marc Rouse from the Royal Ottawa Golf Club and Brent Deighan from the Kanata Golf Club.
Jason Winters from the Kevin Haime Golf Center was named the PGA of Ottawa Teaching Professional of the Year. Also nominated for this award were Jeff Gunn from the Graham Gunn Advantage Golf School and Tim Sewter from the Rideau View Golf Club.
Kevin Haime from the Kevin Haime Golf Center was named the PGA of Ottawa Junior Leader of the Year over fellow nominees Tim Sewter from the Rideau View Golf Club and Joe Dubinski from the Gregg Foley & Joe Dubinski Golf School.
The PGA of Ottawa Sales Rep of the Year for 2015 is Acushnet Canada’s Gavin Corbeil. Also nominated were Sam Moss from TaylorMade/Adidas and Keith Riley from the Fletcher Leisure Group/Golf Supply House.
Congratulations to all of the 2015 Award Winners and Nominees. The PGA of Ottawa held another successful season and it was nice to see a room full of PGA of Ottawa Golf Professional supporting all of the nominees.
PGA of Ottawa Executive Director Harry Hereford was also thanked for his work during the season.
Also announced earlier was the PGA of Ottawa Board of Directors for the 2016 season. Greg Chambers (Manderley-On-The-Green Golf) is the President; Colin Orr (OAC Golf School) is the 1st Vice-President and Andrew Donaldson (The Marshes) is the Secretary. Directors at Large with portfolios to be announced after their next Board Meeting are Shawn Banfield (GreyHawk GC); Gregg Foley (Gregg Foley & Joe Dubinski Golf School); Jeff Gunn (Graham Gunn Advantage Golf School); Scott Johnson (Kanata GC); Bill Keating (Camelot G&CC) and Marc Rouse (Royal Ottawa GC).
