Q-School Struggles For Fritsch

It was definitely not the start Brad Fritsch was looking for in his attempt to earn a PGA Tour Card for 2011.

The 32 year-old former Manotick, Ontario resident shot five over par, 77, in his opening round of stage one of the PGA Tour Qualifying Tournament.  Four birdies were offset by three triple bogeys and three bogeys as we made his way around Pinewild Country Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina.

66 was the low score of the day, recorded by Drew Weaver and Stephen Gangluff.

Fritsch will start round 2 in a tie for 63rd place out of 77 golfers.  He will now need three strong rounds in order to advance to 2nd stage.

Complete scoring for the Q-School location Fritsch is playing at can be found here.
