After recent departure of Jean Leduc, the Board of Directors at the Rivermead Golf Club vowed that they would have a replacement as soon as possible for the Director of Golf and Operations. It was shared with membership today that the private club in Aylmer, Quebec has found the successor.
PGA of Canada member Mathieu Perron, who was named as the Assistant Director of Golf and Operations in 2021, has been promoted from that role to the top position.
Perron, 31 and originally from St-Hubert, Quebec, joined the staff at the historic club in 2018 and has proven to be a popular employee.
In his communication to membership on March 1, Club President Robert Sample had great praise for Perron.
“Mathieu possesses strong leadership, business acumen, hospitality and engagement competencies that will support Rivermead’s members, Department Heads, and staff as we move forward to finalize our course improvement project, commence our Clubhouse refurbishment project, and deliver a top in class standard of service and experience for our members,” shared Sample.
Perron’s resume includes various positions in the golf industry, including time with GolfTown, Titleist, Le Club Laval-sur-le-Lac, and Pinegrove Golf & Country Club. He also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from HEC Montréal. He was also a successful amateur golfer as the winner of the 2013 Duke of Kent and has established himself as a fine player within the PGA of Canada – Ottawa Valley Zone.
“Filling this position from within our own ranks speaks to the strengths of our current management team,” Sample asserted to the membership. “Those fortunate enough to see Mathieu in action know that he understands the culture of our club, and has fostered effective relationships with members, club management and staff. Mathieu is a proactive, planned and goal-oriented leader. Mathieu is an effective communicator in both official languages. Mathieu cares, will deliver, and will make a difference.”
Perron officially begins his new position on April 1, 2022.
