A ceremony to remember long-time golf professional David Powell will take place on Tuesday, September 5th.
Powell, a PGA of Canada member for nearly four decades, passed away peacefully at the Perth & Smiths Falls District Hospital on August 29th. He was just 68 years of age.
Born in Milton, Ontario, Powell was a dedicated golf professional having served as a Board Member of the PGA of Canada – Ottawa Zone, ascending to the President’s role in 2002.
Powell putt tireless work into teaching, especially juniors, garnering him the PGA of Canada – Ottawa Zone Junior Leader of the Year Award multiple times.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Linda, he is survived by his children Jordan, Reagan, James; his step-children Laura and Jason; his grandchildren Rylie and Angel and his step-grandchildren Hudson and Elena. Also survived by his siblings Michael Powell and Janet Brennan. He will be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and many dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Pinecrest Visitation Centre – 2500 Baseline Rd., Ottawa, on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 1:30-3:30 p.m. and after 6:00 p.m.
Words of Remembrance to take place at 7:00 p.m. Reception to follow.
