A very popular face at the eQuinelle Golf Club in Kemptville is moving on.
After spending the last seven years as the General Manager, Katharine Usher-Vollett will be shifting her attention and efforts to the same role at the Amberwood Golf and Country Club in Stittsville.
It follows the announcement that TMSI (Thunderbird Management Services, Inc), her employer at eQuinelle, has taken on a management contract with Amberwood.
Usher-Vollett has been the face of eQuinelle since it opened in 2009. Many golfers are familiar with her warm greetings and smile to match.
The 25-year employee of TMSI will now turn her skill and charms to the 9 hole Amberwood facility which is a centre for the local community. She previously worked for TMSI at the Superdome at Ben Franklin Park, the West Ottawa Tennis Club, and the Thunderbird Sports Centre.
“I’m looking forward to the challenge that Amberwood brings and I’m excited to be part of a great facility,” explained Mrs. Usher-Vollett.
Darin McCorriston, President of TMSI, was effusive in his praise for his long-time staffer.
“Katharine has been a tremendous asset at eQuinelle, turning the club into an award-winning facility, and we’re excited to have her on site, full time, at Amberwood this year,” McCorriston said in a provided statement. “Although she’ll be missed at eQuinelle, we’re positive she’ll make a great impact at Amberwood and help improve the day-to-day operations.”
With Usher-Vollett’s departure PGA of Canada member Phil Rankin will step in to take on the responsibilities at eQuinelle as the Director of Golf and General Manager.
The Head Teaching Professional at the eQuinelle since 2013, Rankin has previously served as Director of Golf at two Ottawa-area facilities – Eagle Creek Golf Club and Kanata Golf & Country Club.
Rankin will be supported by James Paterson. Paterson was recently named as the Food & Beverage Manager for the club and will add the title of Assistant Manager.
