Nepean’s Graham Gunn travelled to the American south last week to play in the Maker’s Mark Texas Senior Open and came out of the trip with a tie for 10th place.
Gunn, who holds conditional membership status on the European Senior Tour and teaches at the White Sands Golf Course and Practice Centre in Orleans, Ontario, tipped it up at the Clubs of Kingwood Forest course on September 24-26 against a field of top senior-aged pros. Among the players in the field were well known pros Danny Edwards, David Ogrin, and Rocky Thompson.
The winner was Joe Stansbury of Minnesota who shot 67-69-75-211 or the week for a $10,000 1st plaze prize.
Gunn opened with a pair of 72’s and followed with a final round of 73 for a 217 total. His tie for 10th earned him $1,000.
