Mackenzie Tour – PGA TOUR Canada 

The second stop of the year for the Mackenzie Tour is in Victoria, B.C. for the Bayview Place Island Savings Open presented by Times Colonist and three players share the lead after round one.

Toronto, Ontario’s Albin Choi, Richmond Hill, Ontario’s Taylor Pendrith and Seal Beach, California’s Dan Buchner shot matching rounds of 6-under 64 on Thursday at Uplands Golf Club.

One shot back of the trio at 6-under was Eugene Wong, making his 2015 Mackenzie Tour season debut, along with J.J. Spaun and Ryan Brehm.

Canada and the Whistle Bear Golf Club in Cambridge, Ontario are being very friendly hosts his week for the playing of the Manulife LPGA Classic.  A huge percentage of the field was under par in round one on Thursday with Cheyenne Woods, Cristie Kerr and P.K. Kongkraphan leading the way at -9.

In round one Alena Sharp was the best of the ten Canadians competing. The Hamilton, Ontario native has a share of 20th after a round of -5.

Eastern Ontario pros Brooke Henderson (71), Brittany Henderson (72) and Augusta James (76) will have some work to do on Friday to ensure they are around for the weekend.
