Round one of the Ottawa Citizen Championship presented by Tommy & Lefebvre is in the books and a past winner is off to a quick start. Bonnie Wolff, a member of the Carleton Golf & Yacht Club, shot one under par, 71, at the Loch March Golf & Country Club in Kanata on Tuesday to take an impressive five stroke lead into the second of four rounds. That 2nd round will take place July 4th at The Marshes.
Wolff won the championship in 2006.
Diane Dolan, now playing out of Hylands Golf Club after many years at Kingsway Park, is in second place with her score of 76. That puts her three ahead of the third place golfer and defending champion, Lise Jubinville of Carleton Golf & Yacht Club.
An additional highlight of the round was a Hole In One recorded by Judy Taylor at the 16th hole. Congratulations to her on the accomplishment.
