Chesterville, Ontario’s Kurtis Barkley has stated that he is highly motivated this season to get his first win on the G4D Tour (Golf for the Disabled Tour)and the three-time Canadian National All-Abilties Champion keeps knocking on the door.

Barkley, 34, rebounded from a tough opening round on Monday at the G4D Tour @ Volvo Car Scandinavian Mixed 2023 being played at the Ullna G&CC, Stockholm, Sweden, to ultimately earn a share of 3rd place.

Barkley was a bit despondent after his opening round, joking online that he needed a putting coach after an atypical opening score of 85, (including 37 putts) which left him 10 strokes off the pace on a very difficult course. However, he found his putting form in round two, once again hitting 12 greens in regulation as he did in his first lap, but this time only needing 26 putts.

As a result he made eight birdies on the day for a final score of 69 (-3) (the only score under par recorded by the entire field during the 36-hole event, to climb to within three shots of the winner Juan Postigo. That earned his a share of third alongside Rasmus Lia of Sweden.

Barkley has not finished outside of the top five in his last five starts on the G4D circuit, that includes this t-3, a par of solo seconds, a tie for 2nd, and a 5th place dating back to last October at a tournament in Spain.
