It was just recently that I was pondering about the potential for some more traditional-looking shoes in the PUMA Golf line-up to complement their multiple athletic offers, and they have arrived.
The company has revealed the new AVANT for both men and women. The model, which adds a twist of modern to a classic profile, is offered in both wingtip and saddle variations.
“The saddle and wingtip styles were a lot of fun to design,” said Andrew Lawson, Senior PLM, Golf Footwear at Puma Golf. “We are entering the classics space. A traditional style is a first for us and we are super thrilled to be part of the action. We want to serve the golfer; we have been listening and are excited to deliver this trend to our golf consumer.”
Each of the AVANT models feature premium materials and modern technologies. They are built with a a premium full-grain leather upper that is backed by a one-year waterproof guarantee.
Additional features of the shoes include “PROFOAM) EVA midsoles, spikeless soles with strategically places ridges and lugs to enhanced traction, and what the company calls a “PROCLIP TPU HEEL COUNTER AND PERFORMANCE TPU WELT” intended to provide a more secure fit and stability around the foot.
The standard Avant is offered in multiple colourways for both men ($189.99 CAD) and women ($149.99 CAD) while the Avant Wingtip ($199.99 CAD) model is available solely for men.
All models come with a one-year waterproof guarantee. Avant premium golf shoes will be available starting February 26, 2024, at retail and on the PUMA Golf website.
