Four Players Advance From Greensmere GC Ontario Men’s Amateur Qualifier

A small but talented field of golfers took to the Legacy Course at Greensmere Golf and Country Club in Carp, Ontario on Sunday, June2 in an attempt to qualify for the Ontario Men’s Amateur Championship.

Twenty-eight players were registered with twenty-six completing the eighteen hole qualification round on a perfect weather day.

A total of four spots were up for grabs at the Ontario Men’s Amateur that will take place this year at the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club on June 24-27.

Ultimately it was junior golfers who dominated the action at Greensmere with all the qualifying spots going to players among the younger set.

The medalist on the day was Max Corcoran of the Loch March Golf & Country Club with an even par score of 72.

Finishing one back and also advancing were a trio of players – Shane Stanley (Carleton Golf & Yacht Club), Atlas Ibit (Public Player), and Rowan MacDonald (Royal Ottawa Golf Club).

2024 Flagstick Amateur Champion Aiden Coyle (Carleton Golf & Yacht Club) will be the 1st alternate from the site.
