Twenty-seven years. From “Hello World!” to him turning 48 years old last month it’s been a heck of a run for the partnership between Tiger Woods and Nike Golf.

With his contract expiring at the end of 2023, the party is over between the two industry giants. At least that is what you can conclude from today’s social media share by the 15-time major championship winner.

On Monday, this announcement below was posted on the Tiger Woods social media channels, indicating that the two parties are moving on. While Nike will still have a golf focus, it will be without the services of Mr. Woods.

Speculation has Woods engaging in partnerships with other companies for his clothing affiliation, with the hottest rumour being an expanded apparel line in North America for TaylorMade Golf, or an equity position partnership with a smaller brand like Greyson Clothiers, but that remains to be seen.

Woods is scheduled to play next month at the Genesis Invitational, but it’s likely there will be news before then on what he will be wearing in Los Angeles.
