With nine holes to play there were no less than six players tied for the lead at the East Coast Pro Tour’s Desjardins St-Georges Classic. When regulation play was over it was down to two players vying for the title and the $6,000 first place prize in St-Georges, Quebec.

Matching rounds of 68-68 and 136 totals sent Zack Mason of Toronto and Ty Celone of Long Sault, Ontario in extra holes. The bonus stanza would last three holes with Celone taking the title.

It’s familiar territory for Celone, the Eastern Michigan University graduate who closed out the 2022 season on the circuit with two wins and the year-long points list title. He also won the 2023 Machinex Open on the ECPT, making his latest victory his 4th in just over two seasons.

By coincidence, the man he beat for his latest win was his college teammate at EMU.
