Golf Equipment: Costco Driver On The Horizon?

There may be a question in the title, but it is not much of one. With the arrival of a Kirkland (Costco’s house brand, for those not familiar) driver in the United States Golf Association conforming clubs list, it is all but certain that they will be arriving at Costco warehouses at some point soon. Whether that is in Canada or not, remains to be seen.

In most cases golfers have had to travel to the United States to find their supply of Kirkland wedges, putters, and occasionally, golf balls. The Kirkland irons appeared on the conforming list earlier in the year but we have yet to see them in the wild. In fact, they disappeared off the USGA confirming grooves list so their fate is a mystery at this point.

Just maybe the irons and driver will arrive at their stores prior to the holiday rush. Maybe.

We don’t know much about the Kirkland driver, other than what is visible. A head with a loft of 10.5 degrees has been approved, and it features a back weight and what looks like an adjustable hosel. The USGA list says there is a dot alignment guide on the top of the crown. As to what shaft (s) it might be fitted with, your guess is as good as ours, but don’t expect anything too fancy.

We’ll keep you updated when we know more. If you’re in to buying your steaks, mattresses, and golf clubs in the same place.
