The 2024 tournament schedule for the Ottawa Valley Golf Association (OVGA) is set to start this weekend as The Meadows G&CC will host the OVGA Junior Spring Classic on May 4/5.
The field will play over the South and West nines at the south end Ottawa golf course, not only to play for the title, but also as a qualifier for various tournaments.
Day one provides the opportunity to qualify for the Golf Ontario Junior Spring Classic while Bantam golfers can vie for spots in the Golf Quebec U19 Juniors. Both days act as the local qualifier for the Optimist International Junior Spring Classic.
More than 100 young golfers are registered to play the tournament, including many members of the OVGA Junior Development Team who practiced at the course last weekend.
Also notable in the field is Colton Dee of the Kingston who recently competed at the Drive, Chip, and Putt Finals at the Augusta National Golf Club.
