Brampton Golf Club to Host 2023 World Junior Girls Golf Championship

The world’s best young female golfers will be arriving this Fall to compete in Brampton, Ontario.

Golf Canada and Golf Ontario, who jointly operate the tournament, have announced that the 2023 World Junior Girls Championship presented by Sargent Farms will be hosted by the Brampton Golf Club on October 2-7.

The 72-hole championship features both team and individual competitions as well as a coaching summit and a juniors girls skills development clinic.

“We’re truly excited to be sharing our course with the top girls from around the world,” said Boris Uvakov, Brampton’s General Manager in a Golf Canada story by Terry Lenyk. “We’re invested in the growth of the game at all levels and our membership is proud to do our part in hosting world-class championships.”

Additional support for this world class event, which has featured participation by future LPGA winners like Brooke Henderson, Yuka Saso, Hannah Green, Maja Stark, and Atthaya Thitikul, for example, also comes from the R&A and the International Golf Federation.

This year’s edition is the 8th for the championship and on top of the prestigious titles available, the individual winner will also receive an exemption for the the 2024 CP Women’s Open.

The plan for 2023 will see the largest field ever to date with 78 players from 25 countries taking part.

Spectators are encouraged to support the players and there is no admission fee.
