The Canadian Tour will resume their 2010 competitive schedule this week in Mexico with the playing of the Corona Mazatlan Mexican PGA Championship.
As I write this players like Andrew Jensen of Ottawa are on their flights to Mexico. Play will begin Thursday.
Also joining Jensen in the field are three other players with regional ties. Brad Fritsch, formerly of Manotick, Ontario is in the field as is Scott Hawley and Oliver Tubb. Hawley was born in Ottawa but grew up in Massachussetts. Tubb now lives in Vancouver but is originally from Stirling, Ontario, north of Belleville.
Played at the El Cid Golf & Country Club, this Championship offers a purse of (USD) $125,000.
In 2009 Mauricio Molina of Argentina was the winner.
