The Norway Bay Golf Course at Astra Estates in Bristol, Quebec will be hosting a major charity golf tournament in early August and are seeking players to take part.

The tournament, to be held on August 12, 2023, will benefit Solider On.

Soldier On is a program of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) which contributes to the recovery of ill and injured CAF members and veterans by providing opportunities and resources through sport, recreational, and creative activities. Soldier On is recognized for improving the quality of life of the ill and injured and is a highly visible and integral component of the Department of National Defence, and the CAF’s commitment to the care of ill and injured members. Generous Canadians support the program through donations and fundraising to the Soldier On Fund, which is managed by Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services.

The owner of the golf course at Norway Bay, John Edelman, is a military veteran himself, making this a cause that hits close to home for him. He served in the Canadian Air Force for 32 years with Tours in Afghanistan and Kosovo as part of that.

The tournament day will feature play, a dinner, and a silent auction – all raising money for the charitable cause.

Some of the celebrity guests include Hockey Hall of Fame member Larry Robinson, American Hockey Hall of Fame member Brad Smyth, former NHL goalie and Lieutenant Colonel in the CAF, Edward Stankowski, and Colin Keiver, the Deputy Commander of the RAF.
