The Osprey Valley Open, an event on the PGA TOUR Canada held at the TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, is leaning hard into social media for one of their tournament’s sponsor’s exemptions.
It was announced on Wednesday that social media golf star Micah Morris would be receiving an exemption.
Morris, who rose on to the scene via YouTube channels GM Golf and GoodGood Golf before breaking out on his own, is a native of Guthrie, Oklahoma. He has been documenting his move into professional golf over the last couple of years, playing minor professional events and qualifiers for Korn Ferry Tour events. He now works from a home base in south Florida.
While he is not new to Canada, having recently played in the Mickelson National Invitational near Calgary (where he tied for 52nd place) it will be his first start in a PGA TOUR sanctioned event, and one north of the border.
“I’m so pleased to be heading to TPC Toronto to tee it up in my first PGA TOUR Canada event,” said Morris. “Competing in a tournament of this level will be one of the biggest moments of my career so far. I’ve been working incredibly hard to prepare myself for challenges like this, and I can’t wait to test my game against some outstanding players later this month.”

During his social media journey, Morris, 28, has gathered over 300,000 followers on Instagram and almost 450,000 subscribers on YouTube.
The Osprey Valley Open takes place July 27-30 at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley’s Heathlands course.
In addition to the 72-hole PGA TOUR Canada competition on TPC Toronto’s Heathlands course, Osprey Valley Open event week includes Pro-Ams, The Road to TPC Toronto junior competition Finale, an Executive Women’s Day, and more.
