Preview: 2023 PGA of Ottawa Fall Championship

The PGA of Ottawa Fall Championship on the Flagstick.com PGA Ottawa Tour will be hosted by the Rideau View Golf Club located in the Manotick sector of Ottawa, Ontario on Monday, September 18, 2023.

This is only the third year for the Fall Championship with Prescott’s Bill Minkhorst and Smiths Falls’ Gord Percy being the previous winners of the Open Division. In the Senior Division, GUNNGOLF’s Graham Gunn and the PGA of Canada’s Darrell Buchanan were the past winners.

Apart from bragging rights in the final Flagstick.com PGA of Ottawa Tour Event, PGA of Ottawa Professionals can still accumulate PGA of Ottawa Player of the Year points in the Open and Senior Divisions.

Leading the way in the Player of the Year standings in the Open Division are Rideau View’s Dan McNeely (1431 points) (Spring Open Winner) and Roger Beale (1265) (Zone Championship Winner) followed by The Meadows James Sperinck (1248), Loch March’s Stephen Veenema (1205.5), The Meadows’ Dave McDonald (1163), Whitetail’s Derek MacDonald (1129) (Summer Open Winner), GolfTEC Ottawa’s Colin Pitchers (1108), Golf Genius’ Brad Smith (1097)and GolfTEC Ottawa’s Taylor Lafferty (1091.5).

In the Senior Division, GUNNGOLF’s Graham Gunn (2060 points)  (Summer Open, Senior Championship, Zone Championship Winner) leads the way followed by Archies Family Golf Center’s Pasquale Mongillo (1844) (Spring Open Winner), Pine View’s Steve Hall (1744), Cedarhill’s Greg White (1528) and PGA of Canada’s Darrell Buchanan (1411).

The final event on the Flagstick.com PGA OTTAWA TOUR is the Ping Challenge Cup, an annual competition between PGA of Ottawa Head Professionals and Assistant Professionals. The Head Professionals captained by Flagstick’s Jeff Bauder hold a 7-5 advantage over the Assistant Professionals captained by Flagstick’s Scott MacLeod. The 13th Annual Competition takes place on Monday, October 2nd at Hylands Golf Club.
