Product Watch: Cleveland Golf Continues Value Proposition in Putters with new HB Soft Milled

Six years ago, when they introduced a putter collection that carried the name of the town from which they operate, Huntington Beach, Cleveland Golf was in the right place at the right time.

With the retail price of premium original equipment manufacturers putters on the a steep rise, in 2016 the Huntington Beach putters made a play for the golfer seeking a quality milled putter, but not wanting to break the bank to do so. At sub $200 pricing at the time, they garnered a lot of attention, and justifiably so.

Since their introduction, the putter models from Cleveland have steadily snuck their way into the bags of all levels of golfers, paving the way for further updates to the line-up, including one revealed today.

The new HB SOFT Milled line of putters will arrive at retail on November 18, just in time for the start of the season in southern climates, and the holiday giving season in the north.

“The HB SOFT Milled putter line delivers milled precision at a remarkable value,” said Haley Wian, Business Planning Manager at Cleveland Golf. “With a variety of head shapes, alignment options, and a fitting system to match any stroke type, there is an HB SOFT Milled putter to help upgrade your putting performance.”

To achieve the final result, and price point, the HB Milled Soft putter heads are cast then milled across the face an back, followed by hand polishing of the sole to hit specification numbers.

The ten models each feature tuned milled for each model to help keep balls speeds off all parts of the face consistent.

Two models of grips, the pistol-shaped Golf Pride PRO ONLY Red Star and the oval-back shaped Golf Pride PRO ONLY Green Star, are offered to suit different stroke styles.

While traditionally the HB putters have been offered in a steel shaft only, a new upgrade option is the new UST Mamiya All-In shaft that is intended to minimize flex in the shaft and stabilize the face angle at impact.

Canadian retail pricing comes in at $249.99 for steel shafted putters and (USD) $324.99 for those with the UST Mamiya All-In Shaft.
